The researcher will focus his/her research on the interlinguistic processes involving the Arabic language in situations of plurilingualism, which will be examined from a sociolinguistic and variationist perspective and paying special attention to the intercultural dynamics involved. In particular, the role of Arabic in the linguistic repertoires of individuals with a migratory background living in the regional and national territory will be examined. To this end, it will also be necessary to investigate the ideological attitudes towards the Arabic language as well as the broader conception of linguistic knowledge and its transmission in the Arab-Islamic culture.
